GREATS automation solution is designed using Object Oriented Test Automation Framework and with following objectives in mind:
- Maintainability - Maintainability refers to the ease of making changes while there is a need to change the earlier implementation. In GREATS, this is achieved by abstracting all logical units from the automation scripts it enables us to update our automation scripts in real time.
- Simplicity- GREATS was designed keeping business analysts/ manual testers in mind who don’t have any automation testing experience but have wealth of information about application functionality and domain. GREATS is easyto understandwhich allows the user to add new automation test cases and modify existing test cases.
- Reusability- In GREATS, extensive and rich function libraries are available that are kept external to test scripts. All the test steps in automationtest case represent reusablefunctions. Test Steps or automation test cases created once can be reused within another automation test case.
- Robustness- GREATS implements the robustness by making it sure that failure of one test case does not affect execution of another testcase. Exception handling implemented in GREATS makes sure that an error, be it in test data/ test case/ or the application, is captured at the right place at the earliest possible time and reported as a test result for later debugging.
- Atomicity- Atomicity in a test framework means that every test case being prepared should be complete and require no prerequisites to be executed before the test case.
