  • Independent verification and validation of outsourced development BEFORE it is returned for integration and acceptance
  • Manage quality of work and deliverables from outsourced development
  • Benchmarking of outsourced processes to assess efficiency and effectiveness of outsourced development
  • Definition and control of service level agreements
  • Metrics to quantify quality and efficiency
  • Scalable and flexible resource

Outsourced development can offer attractive advantages. Independent Quality Verification will keep vendors and outsourced development centre’s both efficient and effective and provides the validation of outsourced work before it is returned for integration and acceptance. Thus ensuring the system requirements are actually delivered and that agreed Service Level Agreements are achieved.

Independent Outsourced Testing

Independent Outsourced Testing will deliver end-to-end quality management and testing solutions with reduced delivery risk at price competitive onshore and offshore rates. Scalability and flexibility are assured to enable improvements in productivity and efficiency to be realized for the business. The Independent Outsourced Testing framework will deliver:

  • Requirements Management
  • Quality Control of specifications delivered to outsourced development centers and the communication processes employed
  • Establishment of quality entry and exit gates
  • A formal change control and risk management strategy
  • Works equally well with onshore and offshore development

Leading to optimized development, testing and implementation processes as well as reduced costs across the lifecycle.

Onsite Quality Centre
As part of the Independent Quality Verification process, an Onsite Quality Centre is established. This Quality Centre will manage test requirements and communicate these requirements efficiently to developers. A Test Strategy is formulated and documented ready for the offshore testing part of the program.

Quality entry and exit gates are defined and monitored with the Quality Centre acting as the Gatekeeper. Updating of stage entry and exit criteria is monitored and updated as required. The Quality Centre acts as the mediator between the business requirement and the offshore development and testing team to validate and verify the quality of the delivered material before it is returned to the onshore location.

Metrics and Reporting
To provide quantification of reduced cost and increased quality and the benefits and cost reductions accrued; metrics are proactively gathered and delivered to the business. The effectiveness of the testing program can be verified and the resultant effect on development shown.
These metrics allow business and IT executives to retain control of the outsourced development and the testing project and report ongoing savings and improvements in a simple and effective manner.

Deliverables

  • Quality entry and exit gates and reporting of effectiveness of transition between stages
  • Documented Change Control strategy
  • Documented Risk Management strategy
  • Documented Requirements that developers work to
  • Metrics gathered and reported to prove increased quality and reduced cost of development and testing
